Give me a kiss honey

Sometimes when my son gets upset before bedtime ( because he wants juice and has to have milk) or early in the morning he tells me:

Mom: I love you honey.
K: I love you too.
Mom: Come here, give me a kiss.
K: No, I threw your kisses away.

Not only does he tell me he threw them away, but he acts it out too. He points his little index finger at me as if he's getting ready to teach me a lesson. Then he makes this cute little face;  he wrinkles up his nose, squints his eyes, and throws his kisses behind him as if he's throwing them away.

Oh how I wish I could get this on video to show him when he's older.

K's 3rd Birthday

We celebrated K's third birthday with his Grandma & Grandpa, and cousin! I can't believe he is already three!! Where did the time go? I have this over whelming urge to keep him at this age forever. Our time is just going by way too fast. First, we took K to his very first movie. We went to go see the Disney movie, Frozen. Here are the boys running threw the hallway in the theater:

Unfortunately, K was scared of the dark theater. He was still too young. We ended up walking out of the movie.  I did have a back up plan just in case that happened. Kangazoom was inside the mall too! So, we slowly made our way over to Kangazoom, of course he got to ride and play all the games that the mall had to offer on the walk between the theater and Kangazoom !

This was his favorite game. He got to shoot huge spiders!

We made it over to Kangazoom! The boys loved the train ride!

Grandma & Grandpa took us out to a very nice lunch after Kangazoom.
Daddy got home from work quickly after we returned home, and he took us out to dinner to celebrate K's birthday.

Here is a small video clip of the server singing Happy Birthday to K!

K opening up one of his presents.

We always end up going out to dinner for K's birthday, but we let him pick out a little cake to celebrate when we get home. This year K picked out a princess birthday cake.
Here is a video clip of K blowing out his candles.

The Golden Apple Learning Store

A couple weeks ago we went to the Golden Apple Learning store to attend a toddler activity day. Every couple weeks the store hosts special activities for toddlers, and we had never attended any of their activities, so we decided it was a good idea to go check it out. We went with Grandma & Grandpa, and K's cousin. The boys ended up not being interested in the toddler time at all, and more interested in the toys that the store was selling.

Grandma & Grandpa got a toy for each of the boys. K picked out an electric guitar.
After we played at the toy store for a while, Grandma & Grandpa took us out for lunch.

K loves corn on the cobb!

Hugging good bye at the end of the day.

It was a fun day!

First time making Gumbo!

Last month while we were at Disneyland, we ate at the Blue Bayou. My father and husband both chose gumbo as one of their sides that came with their entrĂ©e. The Blue Bayou's gumbo is delicious! It is out of this world delicious! I remember trying my husband's and wishing I would have ordered it, although my side salad was very good too! I'm pretty sure everything on the Blue Bayou menu is delicious! Today, I tried to reproduce the Blue Bayou's gumbo! I have never made gumbo before, and I'm happy to report that I was successful! At least my husband and son thought I was successful.

The gumbo is in front and the rice is behind it.

Yum, just a little bit of parsley on top.

K gobbled it up!

Poor little guy is sick right now, but he loved his gumbo!

K's 3 year check up & Lush delivery

K had a check up with his doctor today. He is 41 inches tall. He weighs 39.6 lbs. He's in the 90th percentile for everything except weight. His doctor says he's tall and slender. She also asked him several cognitive questions which he was able to answer. She said she was happy with how well he was doing. Yay!!!

After he got his shots, I gave him some Reece's pieces and they seemed to magically take away the pain. His smile slowly came back....

We came home after K's doctor's appointment because I was expecting a delivery from Lush. I had made an online purchase the day after boxing day. Here is what we got:

This is Ickle Baby Bot

This is a sample they threw into our box of Ice Blue soap.

The sale this year was BOGO (Buy One Get One). So, I bought two of these shooting for the stars bath bombs for K, and got two free.

I let K open the four gift boxes.

This is the team member that made our products! Our products came from Canada this time.

Here is our order. 4 Shooting for the stars bath bombs for K. 2 Father Christmas bath bombs for K. 2 Candy Mountain Bubble bars for K. 1 Ickle Baby Bot for K. 2 pieces of Snow Globe soap for Mommy & Daddy. And 2 pieces of Rock Star soap for Mommy & Daddy. We haven't tried any of these before, and can't wait to try them!

" GET IT OUT MAMA ! "

Okay, so something funny happened tonight....that I thought I would post about because my son is one funny little dude.

I was laying on the couch texting on my phone when K came up to me and said:

K: Get it out Mama!
Me: What?
K: The nut!
Me: Where is it?
K: In my nose!
Me: You got a nut stuck in your nose?
K: Yeah. ( casually)
Me: ( I looked up his nose and couldn't see it, but knew by his facial expression that he did do it.) Daddy!!!
Daddy: What?
Me: K put a nut up his nose, and I need your help getting it out!
Daddy: What?
Me: (I pulled K into the light and tried to look again, and still couldn't find it.) Are you sure honey, you put a nut up your nose?
K: Yeah. ( casually)
Daddy: ( Daddy turned K's head in different angles under the light to see if he could see anything.) Yes, I see a nut up there. ( Daddy put his finger on K's unclogged nostril.) Blow out your nose, K.

Sure enough a cashew nut came flying out of my son's nose.

As a mom, I must admit, I was a little nervous during the beginning of this situation. But, now that I know K is okay......I will remember this story....as what my son was doing during the last couple hours before he turned three. I fall in love with him more every single day.

K has a secret!!!!

At Christmas dinner, K asked me to lean towards him because he had a secret he needed to share with me. I leaned over to him, and he cupped his mouth as he whispered into my ear " boobie holder". K thinks a bra is called a boobie holder. I could not help but smile at his secret. Then he leaned towards Grandma, and he told her the same secret. Uh Oh...I thought. I hope he doesn't go around the dining table sharing his secret with everyone. I'm not prepared to explain where my two year old son learned this. Oh....the things two year olds say.
