Happy Birthday Daddy!!!

We celebrated Daddy's birthday today! We went to the grocery store after school to pick out a cake for Daddy. K picked out some very nice cupcakes:

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Daddy and K both blew out a candle in their cupcakes!

We had a quiet night at home. K and I made Daddy a nice dinner. Then he watched the game, while K and I played with Makena. K enjoyed watching Makena follow the light from his flashlight.

I found this picture when I was downloading my pictures to my computer, lol.
I wonder who took this?

Kisses

Ahhhhhhh!!!!! I've been wanting to take this picture for over a year!!!!!!!!

I LOVE HIM!!!!!!

Painting on a canvas

K and I have been working on a project for his playroom:

This is just a sneak peek since we are only half way done. We are going to paint 12 small canvases to hang up in K's playroom. K has participated in the creation of the 6 we have done so far! I'm really excited to be working on this project. I bought all the supplies months ago, and have been trying to find the time to get them done. Hopefully we can finish them up by next week, and I can get some better pictures on here. Yay! Progress!!

School Work & Dinner

K is learning a different letter of the alphabet each week. Here are two pieces of art work from the last two weeks:

It was a Mexican Casserole kind of night! If I put sour cream and olives on K's he gobbles it right up!

Yum, my favorite!

Hanging out with Grandma & Grandpa

We went to Grandma & Grandpa's one day last week. Grandma & Mommy went out and did a little school clothes shopping, then came back and K got to play with his cousin! It was a fun day!

K after we got home from Grandma & Grandpa's. It was only 6pm.

First project in the new home

Our first project was covering up the holes in the family room, picking a paint color, and painting the family room and fireplace.

Here are a couple before pictures:

This is what the family room looked like before we moved in.
This is our fireplace. I originally did not like the mantel color or the mosaic tile. We painted the mantel with a primer, and now the mosaic tile is starting to grow on me...

Hubby painting...

These are the holes we needed to cover before painting the last wall in the family room. When we purchased the house there was a picture covering the top hole, we did not find it until the day we moved in. The hole to the left of the television we were aware of, but did not care for.
Hubby covered both the holes! Yay!
Gone!
The Kelly Moore employees should know me by my first name by now. I've been in there almost every other day for the last couple weeks trying to get colors right. First I tried this light grey color, except when I got it onto my wall it was too bright.

I didn't figure out that I didn't like it until I cut in the entire wall...ugh
Then I found Blue Slate by BM. I got the sample up on the wall, and I thought it was a little too blue, but hubby really liked it so we decided to go for it.
I don't think anyone would be able to tell there was a hole in this wall a week ago.
The entire room is painted now. I'm painting the fireplace tomorrow. Then I will take pictures of the finished look.

Grandpa's Birthday BBQ

We had a Birthday BBQ for Grandpa:

We smoked some tri-tip. We enjoyed some of Grandma's potato salad and macaroni salad. Then we headed over to the park to enjoy the beautiful day....

Happy Birthday Grandpa!

Okay, this isn't really funny but I found it very funny at the time, only because I've never heard K say this before.... When we sat down to eat our BBQ, K only wanted to eat two bites and then get up and play. We of course directed him to remain sitting until he finished his BBQ, and everyone was finished. He became very frustrated with us. Then he said, "I'm going to say a bad word." I was not expecting him to say that....I immediately started laughing, I think I was more in shock. But, I quickly realized that he had got that line from watching a Ramon Quimby movie. Lol, he is a sponge!
