4th of July

We had an awesome 4th of July!
We spent most of the three day weekend in the pool!

Here are a couple action shots:

We invited K's cousin, Aunt , and Uncle to go see the fireworks with us!
We had a blast!

There were jumpy houses, rock climbing, music, and food vendors.
K wanted to try the rock climbing for the first time.

He made it all the way to the top the first time!

We went home afterwards and let the boys do the sparklers!
They loved it!

We went to the fireworks Saturday night.
So, we spent the 4th in the pool and barbequing!
We pretty much spent the entire 3 day weekend in the pool!

Little Andy....poor little guy is learning how to swim.

BBQ chicken and corn! It was delicious!

Good Bye to Preschool Friends

K made several good buddies while at preschool. I have his best buddies contact info, and hope to keep in contact with them in the future. Since transferring to a different school can be difficult, I wanted him to have something to remember all his buddies. So, we tried a special project:

We got a white T-shirt from the craft store and a new pack of fabric pens.
I wrote " I survived 2 years of preschool" on the front of his shirt.
I sent him to school wearing this shirt and told him his friends could sign his shirt with the new pens.

This is what the shirt looked like at the end of the day when I picked him up.

The back of the shirt.

I saw this and instantly new who wrote it.
K has a girl in his class named Nahlonie.
She draws pictures of hearts almost every day and leaves them in his cubby.
She also leaves him love notes. Most of the time they say Nahlonie loves K.
It's so cute!

I hope to turn the shirt into a pillow, so he can always have it around.

Good bye Preschool!

Good Bye Summer Cabin

Yesterday was our very last day at our summer cabin. The family has decided to sell the cabin, and we decided to go up one last time.

I've been going up to this cabin my entire life. So, it was not easy to enjoy this last trip. It felt a little more like being kicked in the stomach then actually having fun, but I'm glad I went. I got to see my son enjoy the cabin one last time.

Piggy Park

We found our name on the fence surrounding Piggy Park.

This is my son's favorite treehouse at the park.

I've sat here millions of times looking out over the Russian River.
This brings back several good childhood memories.

Walking down to the river.

Life guard stand.

The water feels good for 8:45pm Friday night...

We saw banana slugs

The huge tree in the middle of the deck.

The huge tree in the middle of the deck caught on fire several years ago.

Looking up from the cabin - by the hammock.

We carved our name into the creek log.

But you can hardly see it, it's right at his feet.

Love my Bubba.
Skunk Alley.

Good bye Cabin,
Thank you for all the wonderful memories,

This is a " love bomb" left from our local Chalk Fairy!
The Chalk Fairy lives in the town next to us and leaves love bombs several times a week for kids.
She sometimes leaves them on birthdays , special occasions, or just because.
