We celebrated Daddy's Birthday this past week!

We stained our Hardwood Kitchen Floor

We sanded our Kitchen hardwood floors and re-stained them!

This is what they looked like before.

They had lots of deep scratches from the previous owners dogs.

We rented a sander from Hone Depot.

Our original plan was to get this completed during Labor Day weekend. Well.....it took more like 3 weeks! Our frig was in our family room for 3 weeks! That was fun....

I selected the Dark Walnut stain color, because that is what I used on the Kitchen table! It was way too dark for the floor!!!

 

We sanded the Dark Walnut off, and re stained the floor with a provincial MinWax stain color. 

I put 2 coats of stain down, and 2 coats of polyurethane.

First Fire of the Season

We had our first fire of the season last night! It was cold and windy outside, and I was loving it!

 

K had his first Hot Chocolate of the season!

 

We enjoyed both of these while watching the new Avengers movie!

 

What is a medium?

K and I were watching TV Thursday evening, when we saw a preview for a new TV series. The series is about a young girl who is a medium. After the preview was over, K turned to me and asked:
K: What is a medium?
Me:( I wondered for a second if this was a question I should answer....maybe he is still too young?)  I told him that a medium is someone who believes they can speak to dead people.
K: People really can speak to dead people?
Me: Some people believe that they can....but I do not know if it really is possible.
K: Do you want to know who I talk to?
Me: Who?
K: I talk to God.
Me: You do? What do you say to him?
K : I asked him for my Great Grandma back.
Me: ( My heart felt like it was going to jump out of my chest, I gave him a hug & kiss & told him I loved him)
K: Then I say, Amen.
Me: Good job, honey. Good job, my love.

Treat Time!

Last Friday we decided to go out to dinner and then went for a teat afterwards:

The Lost World

We went to visit Grandma & Grandpa the other weekend. We went out to lunch with them & then they took us to the Dinosaur place! And K's cousin was inside playing too! We didn't even know he was going to be there!

                                            They had so much fun!

Sick Day with Grandma

K was a little under the weather last Tuesday and spent the day with Grandma instead of going to preschool.

                                                  They spent the day building & playing.
                                                   He loves spending time with Grandma!
