We got Boo'd

We were Boo'd this October for the very first time! It is the middle of October and we've been Boo'd three times:

What is being Boo'd? Being Boo'd is when a neighbor drops off a little treat on your door step, rings your door bell, and then runs off to leave you with your treat. There is a cut out with your treat, of a ghost. You should cut out that ghost and place it on a window for your neighbors to see, so your neighbors know that your home has already been Boo'd and they should Boo a home that has not experienced being Boo'd yet. The paper with the ghost also asks that you Boo two more neighbors! What a cute idea! I am so happy we moved here! We've been Boo'd three times now.

This was the second time being Boo'd, I didn't even get a chance to take a picture of this treat before K got into it. ( I do already know who it is from)
The third time :)

What a cute idea! I can't wait to do this again next year!

DIY Kitchen table

I found this Kitchen table on craigslist for $75! The original owners didn't have the time to re-stain it, but didn't want to just keep it in storage. They wanted to see it go to good use. I thought it would fit perfectly in our new kitchen!

It originally had a dark walnut stain. It also had water damage in several areas. I started this project by sanding the top surface with 100 grit sandpaper. I only had 100Grit sandpaper that my husband had already purchased, which is why it took me forever to get the top sanded. I should have used 60grit or 80grit, and then the top would have gone a lot faster.

Here is the top completely sanded.

Then I primed the bottom of the table.

Next, I decided to stain the top a light walnut stain. Next time, I will stain the top first and then paint the bottom. I was very VERY very careful trying not to let the stain sprinkle onto the primer...but it did. I waited 24hours after staining it to put three coats of polyurethane on the top.

 I primed the chairs.

I decided on a light grey color for the chairs, and painted the bottom of the table a milky white.

Here it is finished! I decided not to distress it or tint it. I love it!

The first fire in our new home

We had our first fire in our new home this past weekend:

All three of us have been sick non-stop the last few weeks. This past weekend we were watching baseball and taking it easy since we were under the weather when we decided to have our very first fire in our fire place!

Daddy and K have been requesting rice crispy treats lately......here is the double batch I made for them. Hopefully it will last longer than a week :)

The Pumpkin Patch

We went to the pumpkin patch today:

We met up with some of K's buddies!

To the top he goes...

Time to find some pumpkins!

There was a very nice climbing tree in the middle of the pumpkin patch!

The crew!
There were 4 munchkins seconds before this picture was taken...
he made a fast escape....

Time for a train ride!

There they go....

There he is!!!

We picked out one pumpkin already & Daddy took it to the car.
We decided to get two more!

The boys played hide and seek in the maze.

It entered triple digits today! It was crazy HOT! I was thinking about pictures when I dressed K today, and not the weather. I wish I would have listened to his Daddy and put him in shorts! Here are the boys taking a break in the shade!

Feeding the animals.

T's Mommy made Halloween treats for all the boys.
Inside the treat were these Dracula teeth! K loves them!

Here are our pumpkins!

We came home and made lunch.
K helped me pepper our chicken sandwiches!

After lunch Daddy took a nap, then we went to pick up some fire wood to stalk our wood pile.
When we returned home we went for a walk. It was Makena's first walk.

Go baby Go!

It was a fun day!
